3 Spiritual Habits When Asking God for Graces and Miracles

Prayer Secrets- to do before miracle

If You’re Praying for a Miracle, Don’t Skip These 3 Things

In times of distress, hopelessness, grief, loss, or confusion, we turn to God—our only hope and our lifeline.
Whether we seek the intercession of a saint, the Blessed Mother, or our guardian angel, or whether we pray directly to Jesus and to God, I believe there are three important things we should do as we wait for God’s answer and to receive the grace or miracle we are praying for.
These are not complicated. In fact, they’re quite simple. But I have found that they make a difference—not only in the way we pray, but also in the way we appreciate God’s blessings.

1. Trust

The moment you decide to bring your prayer before God, you’ve already taken the first step in faith. Trust has already been seeded within your inner being.

But almost immediately, that trust is also tested.

Doubt begins to intervene. The logical mind starts to undermine the intuitive mind. Then we begin to question whether God really hears us. “Will God really hear me? Will anything change? Am I asking for too much?”

When doubt steps in, fear, discouragement, and hopelessness begin to overcome us.

That’s why we have to continue choosing trust.

Trust is having faith in God’s promise that He has our back. When we ask, we trust that He is already working in ways beyond our understanding.

When we pray, we should trust that our prayers are heard. Nothing about our situation is overlooked. Nothing is ignored. God knows our circumstances more deeply than we ever could, and He responds with perfect wisdom and love.

As Scripture reminds us:

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Even when we don’t understand His timing, we can trust His Love and Mercy for us.

2. Be Patient

Trust naturally leads us to patience.

Once we’ve entrusted our prayers to God, we also need to trust His timing.
This is probably one of the hardest parts of our spiritual journey because we often want immediate answers. We want instant solutions. Or perhaps it’s because we feel like we’re running out of time, so we hope that the answers will come the very moment we ask for them.
That feeling is completely understandable. And, of course, our Heavenly Father understands it too.

But miracles don’t happen according to our schedule. They unfold in God’s perfect timing.
Looking back at my own life, I’ve realized that many of the blessings I received were far greater than what I originally prayed for. They were more beautiful, more complete, and more suited to what I truly needed.

That taught me something very important. God doesn’t take shortcuts.

He doesn’t deliver His promises half-finished or in a mediocre way. I believe that He allows us to wait because He’s preparing something that is more aligned with His perfect plan for us.
The scripture reminds us:

Hebrews 10:36
“For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise.”

So while we wait, let us continue trusting, praying, and believing.

3. Pay Your Blessing Forward Through Prayer

Once you receive the grace you’ve been praying for, I encourage you to do something that has become a personal spiritual practice for me.

Pray for someone else. Not because God requires it, but because gratitude naturally overflows.

“A full cup shared is a blessing twice received.” This is an insight I received from my angels.

This means that, God blesses you once when you receive His grace, and you experience that blessing a second time when you share it with someone else.

To pay the blessing forward, choose someone –a family member, a friend, a neighbor, someone you met briefly, or even someone you find difficult to love.

Pray for that person consistently for at least three days.

If you know the person’s name, say it during your prayer. Mention your relationship with them and the intention you’re praying for. If you don’t know their name, that’s perfectly fine.

You can simply say:

“Lord, I pray for the person I met this afternoon while I was walking home.”

Or:

“Lord, I pray for the elderly woman I saw at the grocery store today.”

God knows exactly who they are. They’re already on His radar –or, if you will, in His GPS. In fact, all of us are.

Your prayer doesn’t depend on knowing every detail of their life. What matters is your intention.

Pray that they receive God’s blessings. Pray that they experience His peace. Pray that they remain healthy, joyful, protected, and abundant in every good way.

And pray simply because you want someone else to experience the same joy you’ve experienced after receiving God’s grace.

Personally, I also avoid choosing someone I have romantic feelings for. Like a crush.

The reason is simple.

This act of prayer is meant to be an act of pure generosity.

When we pray for someone from whom we expect nothing in return, our prayer becomes a genuine expression of compassion rather than personal interest.

For me, that is what paying a blessing forward truly means.

When I reflect on this practice, I’m reminded of Jesus during the Last Supper and of the miracle of the five loaves and two fish.

Every blessing that comes from God is meant to overflow.

Just as Jesus multiplied the bread so that no one would go hungry, perhaps we too can allow the blessings we’ve received to multiply by becoming instruments of God’s grace through our prayers for others.

And when we do this, we don’t need recognition. We don’t need anyone to know what we’ve done. Let God alone be our audience.

As Saint Matthew reminds us, our Father who sees what is done in secret knows every act of love.

Finally, let us remember these beautiful words from Scripture:

2 Corinthians 9:8

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

3 prayers secrets

So whenever you find yourself praying for a grace, a miracle, or simply asking God for help, remember these three things:

First, trust. Second, be patient. And third, once you’ve received God’s blessings, allow your gratitude to become a blessing for someone else through your prayers.

We may never fully know how God uses those prayers.

But perhaps one day, we’ll discover that while we were waiting for our own miracle, God was already using us to become part of someone else’s.
