Is the Philippine’s Marcos Jr. Too Quiet for a President?
What President Marcos Jr. Should Be Doing—But Isn’t (Clue: His Sun Sign)
Pressure is mounting on the President Marcos Jr. administration….yet could the president’s low-profile style be hiding real accomplishments?
First, there was the Interpol-aided ICC arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte on March 12.

Prior to that, Vice President Sara Duterte was impeached by the House of Representatives, and it is hoped that the Senate impeachment court will begin the trial immediately—forthwith and without the usual fracas, so to speak.

There is also the controversy involving Prime Water Infrastructure Corp. (Primewater), a company owned by the family of former Senator Cynthia Villar, which has been criticized for poor water supply and high rates. The latest issue is that the company has entered into a growing number of joint ventures with local water districts since 2019, during the tenure of Senator Mark Villar—Cynthia Villar’s son—as Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways. This has led to claims of conflict of interest.

Then there is the unresolved case of the missing cockfighters (sabungeros), who are feared to have already been executed—a case for which President Marcos Jr. has sternly warned he will pursue the perpetrators. Added to all this are the rising prices of commodities, demands for wage hikes, and more—all of which are being attributed to the president’s actions or perceived inaction.
But as the administration tries to fix systems that have gone haywire due to alleged corruption and incompetence, its actions—under the helm of President Bongbong—seem inadequate to some sectors of Filipinos, either due to political partisanship or a lack of media traction.
So, again, let us go back to our initial question: While Pressure is mounting on the President Marcos Jr. administration…. could the president’s low-profile style be hiding real accomplishments?
Being a Virgo – a blessing or a curse?
President Bongbong, born on September 13, 1957, is a Virgo. Being a Virgo has its merits as well as its flaws—as we all do. One virtue of a Virgo, which is not necessarily a flaw but may not work in his favor as the country’s highest public official, is being a quiet worker.
What do I mean by this? Generally speaking, Virgos tend to remain quiet about their accomplishments.
True, they are Service-Oriented but Humble: Virgo is ruled by Mercury, but unlike the flashy side of Mercury seen in Gemini, Virgo expresses it through thoughtful service, behind-the-scenes efficiency, and a desire to be useful—not celebrated.
True, Virgos—by nature are modest—find discomfort with praise: Many Virgos prefer not to draw attention to themselves. They often feel that doing the right thing is simply what should be done, not something to be applauded or bragged about. Although, I must tell you, Virgos secretly seek due recognition too. I mean, why deny that to the hardworking, diligent, and dutiful Virgo?
True, Virgos can be self-critical by nature: Even after doing something generous, a Virgo might still focus on what could have been done better. At the extreme, Virgos never compliment themselves, even after doing their best. Talk about perfectionism. This keeps them from publicly patting themselves on the back.
True, Virgos have an inherent purity of intent: Virgo energy is connected to integrity and is often motivated by a genuine desire to help rather than to seek recognition.
It is also true that Virgos honor efficiency over display: Practical and results-oriented, Virgos prefer getting things done over making announcements about it. So, it is no surprise that they are seen as workaholics.
Need to be bolder, louder
President Bongbong’s quiet nature may not earn him brownie points as a public servant, because, Let’s face it—the public expects their leaders to be visible all the time. Never mind if some call it mere photo ops; people these days look out for “receipts.”
In that context, the president would benefit from a good publicist—someone who doesn’t boast about his achievements but articulates them clearly, using a language that avoids politician-speak and leans more toward a conversational, storytelling tone. He should also consider showing a bit more of his human side, which I think he does but the mainstream media fails to show more of.
Trouble with politicking
As a private citizen, I appreciate the direction he is steering the government. Although marami pa talaga dapat ayusin tulad ng trabaho – please take note of underemployment too, wages, contractualization, housing – especially the renting sector na hindi napapagtuunan ng pansin. dapat na po irevise ang rental act dahil iilan na lang disenteng paupahan ang naniningil nang 10,000 pesos below —especially in urban and city areas where there is a greater concentration of workers and domestic migrants; corruption and unnecessary, redundant policies, impunity, shortage of learning facilities especially in remote areas, and more.
In summary, dapat tignan yung distribution of wealth. As it is, napapagiwanan ang middle class, who is a significant pillar of the economy. Most of our policies are designed to benefit those in the lower income brackets. Pa-ayuda sa pabahay, healthcare, food subsidies, education, etc. Iwan na iwan ang middle class in terms of benefits that sa ngayon, without me having hard statistics, but just by what I read from comments, wala nang middle-middle class, it’s either you are of the lower middle class or in the upper middle at the cusp of high income. The lower middle class is just one emergency away from falling into poverty.
Enabling this system—this unbalanced distribution of wealth and benefits—is, I suppose, part of the political playbook of many politicians. Self-serving, indeed!
Receipts, receipts!
Going back to the president—he is indeed an interesting character, and he’s as straightforward as one can get. I used to watch his old interviews from when he was younger and serving in Congress.

My favorite was his interview with Kris Aquino. He answered her blunt questions with honesty and surprising straightforwardness. I don’t know how he managed to pleasantly dodge her line of questioning. It’s clear he has mastered the art of tact—because too much outspokenness could leave him vulnerable to manipulators, both within and outside his circle. Conversely, choosing to work quietly—without allowing the public to witness not just the outcomes but also the milestones along the way—may not be beneficial in the long run, especially if he wants to be remembered for his legacy.
We Virgos sometimes need to make our actions bold and visible, so that even the kibitzers and naysayers take notice of our presence and contributions. People need to know what the President has been doing and how he is working to lift this country out of the quagmire created by missteps of past administrations—and by the stealthy, ongoing corruption that still exists within the current government.
Astrological aspects of BBM – career and performance
Let us look at some astrological aspects of someone born on Sept 13, 1957 in terms of how he performs in his career or life mission and what he must avoid or watch out for:
Someone born on this date tends to demonstrate a sharp, analytical mind and a deep inner drive to serve, achieve, and live authentically—yet remains adamant against external pressures and expectations.
Mercury in Virgo in the 9th House
Having Mercury in Virgo in the 9th House gives you a sharp, detail-oriented mind. You tend to communicate clearly and logically, especially when solving problems or organizing complicated information. Note that birth time and place data used were estimated only!
Because this Mercury is in the 9th House, your clear thinking also applies to big ideas—like truth, philosophy, and belief systems. You likely have a strong love for learning, teaching, or traveling—anything that helps you grow mentally. People with this placement often have a gift for explaining complex ideas in a simple, useful way.
Mars in Virgo in the 10th House
Having Mars in Virgo gives a focused, practical energy rooted in service, hard work, and a desire for excellence. When placed in the 10th House, this drive shows up strongly in career and public life. There’s a deep urge to achieve something meaningful, often through structured work or leadership.
Actions are careful and intentional, guided by high standards. However, there’s a tendency to tie self-worth too closely to productivity. Learning to value effort—not just results—is essential.
In the President’s chart, this placement could help explain why he asked for courtesy resignations from bureau officers—possibly as a way to uphold discipline and accountability in public service.
Ascendant Square Sun (Ascendant, presumably Sagittarius) and the Sun (Virgo) shows tension between Inner and Outer Self
This aspect can create some tension between a person’s outward behavior and their inner self. At times, others might misunderstand them, or they may unintentionally present themselves in ways that don’t fully reflect who they truly are. This calls for gentle self-awareness and personal growth.
In this regard, what I can suggest to President Bongbong is to relax and simply be authentic. Those who like him will accept him—and there will always be those who won’t.
That said, maintaining a level of privacy also has its benefits. It helps create healthy boundaries between his private and public identity, and offers protection from energy vampires, manipulators, and character assassins.
Lilith Aspects: Inner Rebellion, Outer Restraint
Difficult aspects to Lilith show a tension between your natural instincts and what society expects from you. You might feel judged or rejected for being independent or for saying things others don’t want to hear. But the trine between the North Node and Lilith points to a way forward: learning to accept and include that wild, intuitive side of yourself. This is part of your personal growth—even if it doesn’t fit what others consider acceptable.
